Our Facility

The Village Shul is a three story tile, glass and Jerusalem stone structure echoing distinct Middle-Eastern motifs throughout.  The Shul has numerous rooms capable of hosting multiple educational sessions, lectures, break-out programs and/or banquet meals.

The Top Floor consists of the Frieberg Youth Chapel and balcony.  The Youth Chapel, which hosts our Day Care, Hebrew School and NCSY programmes during the week, hosts our teenage youth contingent on Shabbat.  It can seat 80 – 120 adults depending on seating configuration.  The balcony offers children an opportunity to play outdoors (weather permitting) in a safe environment.  Come Sukkot, our Sukkah can host upwards of 120 adults.  For outdoors weddings, the chuppa area can hold over 200 standing persons.

The Second Floor contains the administrative offices, the “Fireplace Room” (an elegant study for up to 60 seated guests with an authentic, operating natural gas fireplace), the Early Childhood Learning Centre and Multi-Purpose Room (two of the main Day Care classrooms, both configurable to host upwards of 60 seated adults), and the Family Lounge which is the home of the Jewish Family Institute (JFI) whose educational and programming focus is to make “good families great."

The Main Floor contains the Main Sanctuary and the Beit Midrash.  The Main Sanctuary is nominally configured to seat 300 adults sitting in the pews; additional chairs may be added to increase this number.  The décor of the Main Sanctuary is brown, beige and cream with the focus being the imported Jerusalem Stone façade by the Holy Arc – itself consisting of two large bronze doors.  The acoustics of the Main Sanctuary have been specially engineered and is almost without equal.  There are two Wedding Chuppas available to choose from for use in the Main Sanctuary.  The Beit Midrash can hold 100 adults in theatre-style seating.  It has its own Torah Arc and is highlighted by darkly stained wood cabinet and large artistic arching-glass windows.

The Basement contains our Social/Banquet Hall and Women’s Mikvah.  The Social Hall holds 180 seated guests with dance floor or up to 250 seated guests without.  The walls have been artistically painted to convey the feeling of a Jerusalem sunset in reds and oranges, and rise to meet the 15 foot vaulted ceiling.  There is a fully-equipped meat kitchen capable of attending to 250 guests and a choice of three caterers to serve a variety of simcha needs.  The Women’s Mikvah is our “Jewel in the Crown” beautifully decorated in marble and tile, open each night to serve the needs of the community.
