    The Village Shul is a traditional synagogue in partnership with Aish HaTorah Toronto.

  1. Q: How can I become a member?

Any Jew who has reached the age of eighteen (18) years is eligible for General Membership. We encourage that you first speak to our executive director (Mordechai Bookbinder). Subsequent to that, after submitting a completed membership application, Rabbi Ahron Hoch likes to meet with each applicant to welcome them to the community.

  1. Q: When is the office open?

The Village Shul office is open Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm; Fridays and prior to Jewish holidays, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.

  1. Q: When is the library open?

The Sam & Millie Cohen Memorial Multi-Media Library is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The library may be visited at other times by special request by calling 416-785-1107 X 200.

  1. Q: What is the best time to come and visit the shul?

We are happy to work with your schedule. Please call Executive Director Mordechai Bookbinder at the office at 416-785-1107 x 307 or email mbookbinder@aish.com to set a mutually convenient time.

  1. Q: How can I find out about the Mikvah?

Please call and leave a message on the Mikvah line at 416-787-7141 and our Mikvah supervisor will return your call shortly.

  1. Q: How can I get in touch with the Rabbi or staff after hours for an emergency?

We understand that sometimes emergencies happen and you need to speak to someone. In the event of an emergency after hours, call the office. The voicemail system asks “If it is an emergency, please press 1." From there you can decide if you need the Rabbi (a spiritual emergency) to press “1” or the executive director (a non-spiritual emergency) to press “2."
